In loving memory

Mohamed Haroenkhan Abdul

17 February 1966 — 4 June 2026

A devoted husband, a loving father. He gave himself to his country and to his community, and is remembered for his warmth, his humour and his open door.

His life

A life of service and family

Mohamed Haroenkhan Abdul was born on 17 February 1966. He built his life around two things he never wavered on: his family and his community.

For many years he served as a policy officer at the Ministry of Public Works, work he carried out with quiet diligence and a deep sense of duty to the people it served.

He was also vice-chairman of the Surinamese Islamic Association, where his faith, patience and steady leadership guided many. He gave his time freely and asked for very little in return.

He suddenly passed away on 4 June 2026 and was laid to rest on 8 June 2026, surrounded by the love of his family and the prayers of his community.
